Librarian and Educator Frederick G. Kilgour, 1914-2006
Fred Kilgour passed away on July 31, 2006 in Chapel Hill, NC, at the age of 92. Many of us are familiar with his significant contribution to librarianship as founder of OCLC Online Computer Library Center, applying computer technology to library processes, and using computer networks to increase access to information in over 55,000 libraries and institutions around the world in over 110 countries.
